Anudeep Durishetty
Anudeep Durishetty is an IAS officer of 2018 batch securing All India Rank 1 in the UPSC CSE 2017.
Like we discussed Junaid Ahmad (AIR 3 2018) in the previous post who also took 5 attempts to make into IAS, Anudeep also secured this rank in his 5th attempt.

About Anudeep Durishetty
Anudeep Durishetty was born in a middle-class family in Telangana.
He is a native of Metpally town, Jagatyal,(Telangana).
He has been a bright student since his childhood and a sports lover.
He loves to play football, read books and to perform meditation.
"I love Arsenal, Lionel Messi and Roger Federer".
Anudeep Durishetty completed his schooling from Sri Suryodaya High School and Sri Chaitanya Junior College. He then secured a B.Tech From BITS Pilani, in 2011. While pursuing his degree, he developed a keen interest in civil services.
He has a keen interest in ‘History’ and considers Abraham Lincoln, as his inspiration.
On his first attempt, Anudeep Durishetty cleared the UPSC prelims and mains exam, but could not clear the interview, after which he joined ‘Google India’ as a software engineer in Hyderabad, and side-by-side continued his preparation for Civil Service examination.
Anudeep Durishetty the Journey Begins
Anudeep first attempted the IAS exam in 2012 as we read above. In his next year 2013 attempt, he was selected as IRS (Indian Revenue Service).
He failed in his 2014 and 2015 (no service allotted), but Anudeep was determined enough to give one more shot.
He did not give up on his dream and worked harder than before in his fifth attempt to get his dream service which was IAS.
In his fifth attempt, he topped the UPSC exam of 2017, Anudeep was working as an Assistant Commissioner in Hyderabad when the 2017 UPSC results came out and the All India Rank one position was secured by him.
Anudeep's Preparation
Anudeep Durishetty didn't join any formal classes.
Instead, he claims that he learned via the internet.
Because of his busy schedule, he did most of his UPSC preparation on weekends when many of us wanted to chill out.
Anudeep chose Anthropology as his optional subject for CSE as he loved to study about the evolution of mankind and society, he claimed that his favourite book is 'Sapiens'.
He took guidance from his peers and senior officers while he was in the IRS.
Anudeep is a good friend of Ira Singhal, who was AIR 1 in UPSC CSE 2014.
Durishetty acknowledges the role played by his family and friends in his UPSC preparation. So let's put some light on his family members Anudeep's father is an Assistant Divisional Engineer at the Telangana Northern Power Distribution Co. and his mother is a housewife.
